Jacqueline Hope Derby is a SpirituWell chaplain.

Jacqueline Hope Derby

Jacqueline Hope Derby is a professional spiritual care provider and a certified bereavement facilitator. She has focused her career on issues related to miscarriage and fetal demise, infertility, pediatric medical ethics, trauma, research, and healthcare justice. Jacqueline's extensive experience includes serving as a chaplain at Norton Healthcare, VITAS Hospice, and UNC Hospitals. She's also worked for Carolina Donor Services, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, and in other ministry positions. Jacqueline holds a BA in Liberal Studies from St. Thomas University and an M.Div from Duke Divinity School. She completed her chaplain residency at Rush University Medical Center as the resident for trauma at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

Our Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

 

  • 5 or more years of professional, interfaith clinical chaplain experience
  • 4 Units of CPE

Additional Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Board Certified Chaplain
  • Bilingual Language Fluency (e.g. Spanish, Haitian Creole, Arabic, Somali)
  • Deep experience in palliative care, oncology, nephrology, or other similar settings
