Frequently Asked Questions
What is caregiver support?
Caregiver support is part of your Kindful Health hospice care. It offers family members a chance to check in with a healthcare professional whose role is to listen, provide support, and stay connected during hospice care and in the time following the death of your loved one.
What kind of support is offered?
Support focuses on listening and conversation. Some people use this time to talk through what’s happening or what they are feeling; others simply appreciate having someone check in.
How does caregiver support work?
A member of the caregiver support team may reach out at different points during hospice care and after the end of life. Outreach is coordinated with your hospice care team. You choose how much or how little you want to engage, and you may pause or decline support at any time.
How long is caregiver support available?
Caregiver support is available during hospice care and for a period of time after your love one’s death. Timing and frequency can vary based on individual needs and preferences.
Is there a cost?
No. Caregiver support is provided as part of your hospice care.
Who provides caregiver support?
Caregiver support is provided as part of Kindful Health hospice care, in partnership with SpirituWell. Support is delivered by trained professional healthcare chaplains whose role is to listen and provide support to caregivers.
